With Hannah Collins, Fredéric Lefever et Natacha Nisic
The Union zone is located at the heart of the Lille metropolis and polarizes numerous socio-economic issues. With the closures of factories, outsourcing, and the attempts of re-educating the working population, it’s also an entire culture, the ways and customs, and in fact its collective memory that are threatened. Behind the fantasies of a classless society and the doublespeak discourses on making work once again valued, the proud wounds that come of a life of manual labor continue to manifest themselves.
During my residency, I wished to question micro-experiences and micro-gestures that escape from the history of postindustrial society, where that history, however, takes shape.
